Application of Molecular Biotechnology in hot Pepper Breeding

DH line culture technology: The creation of germplasm resources by using haploid technology can significantly shorten the years for the creation of crop germplasm resources.

Molecular marker technology: Molecular markers for the nuclear infertility gene of hot pepper have been developed, three molecular markers for hot pepper to resist viral diseases have been developed, and new molecular markers for hot pepper to resist pepper blight and anthracnose are currently being developed.

Large scale experiments: The purified DH line material reaches 1,500 samples annually, the breeding innovation of traditional germplasm resources is 800 samples each year, and the sterile line selection and breeding are carried out with 10 CMS and 10 GMS each year

Large scale bases: Breeding stations have been established in different ecological zones of Hunan, Hainan, Shandong, Shanxi and Xinjiang, with a base area of over 27 hectares.
